I was hoping for a 30 mins episode, kept looking at the progress bar when I was watching but I understand why they had to cut it as it is to create more suspense. Of course we all know the baddie will not be killed so easily but the question “so what’s going to happen next?” is a big enough carrot to dangle to keep us glued. Next week will be the ultimatum!

I’m glad I kept my faith and hung on to PW until now. Those who don’t like it, please don’t be too much of a wet blanket, just don’t watch. Shrouding the Heavens donghua is also produced and broadcast by Tencent but managed by different production studios. The production company is the same one as the one for Fanren (Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality). In terms of quality, it’s nothing less than the current PW. It’s available here on gogoanime. I think it has already aired 37eps. For me, I started with the first book which is PW, therefore i’m a little biased towards Shi Hao so I stop watching after 6 eps. Can’t tell you if it’s good or not. I’m not keen on the sequels at the moment.

Sacred ruins is the last part of the trilogy, it might take a while for a new donghua to be adapted from it, because the first two are still running. If they produce the third one, fans might not like to watch all the spoilers and it will only divert viewership from the first two donghuas, so I’m pretty sure Tencent won’t be doing that anytime soon.

Which "shambles" in btth do u mean?

Sadly many ordinary donghua fans are unaware of the whole happenings in the Chinese online community. Apparently some ppl reported BTTH’s trailer ;the one where XY was being “intimate” with Medusa as inappropriate. The censorship had to strike it off and BTTH studio was reluctant/hesitant to redo the scene or to inform their audience. When the episode was finally aired, everyone was shocked that the scene was completely snipped off. It even appeared disjointed. Some innocent fans didn’t even understand what really took place thinking that some strange light went into Medusa and were surprised why Medusa ended up chasing XY swearing to kill him. So who knows, maybe some underage audience really thought that’s how babies are made. Lol!!

Long story short, BTTH’s rating plummeted from >80% to below 50%. Although the studio is not directly at fault, they did not give any explanation to their fans until the damage is done and they even closed down the comments section trying to silence all the bashing and criticism. I was not as affected but can’t deny that I was sorely disappointed. Such things can only happen in China **smh**.

if you didnt know the story beforehand there isnt enough info in the ep to conclude that medusa got pregnant.... light always goes into the stomach some way in cultivation donghuas' so even that little hint could be easily misread

While in the apparent minority i have no direct problem with that scene being cut, as i disliked the act of rape happening in this situation. But i had no idea there was such a drama happening in cn, im a little bit shocked wow, thanks for explaining.

they obviously wasnt going to air the rape.... however they were going to go the Yun Yun route and make it clear that they were intimate by using an Aphrodisiac type effect which was still there but then just cut out to medusa wanting to kill XY and chasing him around seemingly for no reason

think soul land was subbed better throughout... this had terrible subz for a while.... at least on this site leading to confusion.... a will eternal suffers from the same thing on gogo but is better subbed elsewhere..... many donghua suffer from this here..... this surpassed soul land a while ago and soul lands story used to be arranged well but not in the last year at least and is just starting to find its way back..... but the damage was to much and only a few ep's left wont fix it.... however it has been much better and im sure the final fight will be great

In depth yes. Soul land could split into many other different donghua. That’s probably also the problem. It’s too much that they hardly focus long on things. Would love to see if he would dig more into his mother’s life and her background.

Story line yes. What do you think of character progression. I think they want to give Tang San a lot. I see a future for perfect world story line but what happens after this battle in soul land?

Also, my theory 108 is a very sacred number in my hinduism and also buddhism , it denotes many astronomical phenomena and even the number of beads in the rudraksha mala , well whatever I really liked the studio to follow that aspect , i think they intentionally did this , maybe I am wrong but I think that's unlikely as i noticed many sankrit letters (language of Gods in Hinduism)during this donghua
